Aligning B-Cubed with other biodiversity initiatives

18 December 2023

One of B-Cubed’s goals is to work closely with other European projects to engage users at regional, national and European levels in order to identify data needs for policies and targets aligned with the new European Green Deal. In this regard, a stakeholder engagement poster was created, illustrating how B-Cubed fits in the context of the Essential Biodiversity Variables Framework and EuropaBON’s EBVs PRIORITY LIST.

Take a look at the stakeholder engagement poster here.

The alignment of B-Cubed with other biodiversity initiatives is key to advancing common biodiversity frameworks, both from a research and implementation standpoint. The project aims to build on what the community has already achieved in terms of gap identification, stakeholder needs and network development. Therefore, to kick-start its stakeholder engagement process, a series of face-to-face interviews with over 15 key stakeholders from across the science and policy spectrum were conducted, aiming to investigate what their views are on the convergence between science and policy. B-Cubed focused on identifying gaps, bottlenecks and alternatives for bridging data, tools and methods, as well as priority case studies that can effectively inform policy and contribute to the project’s results.
